List of Chief Firearms Officers in Canada

Monday, May 14, 2012 at 17:21

Canadian Firearms Program

There is a Chief Firearms Officer for each Province and Territory. The Chief Firearms Officers are responsible for the decision-making and administrative work related to licences, authorizations to transport and authorizations to carry, transfers of firearms by individuals and businesses, and gun show sponsorship approvals.

This involves determining an applicant's eligibility and either issuing, refusing to issue, renewing or revoking the licence, authorization to transport, carry, transfer or sponsor. It also involves setting conditions on these documents.

The Chief Firearms Officers also designate instructors for the Canadian Firearms Safety Course and Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course.

Since we know who theses guys are and wheree they work they should all be arrested. They are breaking the law by having the data collected aince the registry was ended.

ANY common sense experienced gun owner knows the TRUTH, being that only ONE gun can be fired at a time, competently and accurately, by one person, the rare exception being a practiced EXPERT shootist. and, hunters and farmers make up the most responsible members of society, number one, NOBODY wants to be saddled with the stigmatism of being an irresponsible gun owner, or take unnecessary risk, maybe lose posession. Any gun owner who is RESPONSIBLE with a rifle would be NO LESS RESPONSIBLE with an AR or a handgun. If anybody should decide what type of guns are legal in CANADA, an EXPERIENCED GUN OWNER should be consulted with first and foremost. NOT nanny state anti-freedom hate-mongers.

the simplest solution is to get rid of the rcmp's involvement in firearms regulations. they should abolish the firearms program altogether, and let the legislation stand or fall on its own. the ability to classify guns is a definite pain in the @ss issue. if not the rcmp, who should classify them? and by what process? it would be great to have that left to the federal minister, until the next leftist gov't is formed that is. the rcmp are biased and should not have a say at all. i can't think of any clear way to classify weapons in a reasonable way that cannot and will not be abused by antigun zealots... either way, vic can only muzzle the rcmp appointed FOs, not the provincial opp ones. they are gonna have to go a bit further with the new law to solidify it, or else it will be reversed the next anti gun gov't... perhaps mandating a national referendum on the issue in the future, should any significant changes be proposed by anti gun parties come up, would be a start.

So the CFOs are a bunch of "Safety Sallys" ? Whatever, just fire them all toews, and let god separate the "good" ones from the "bad" ones later. But even before you do that, get rid of the entire firearms act. As long as even a bit of it is standing it's a danger to Canadian's freedom. as we've seen by the cyborg behavior of the bureaucratic mind-set. Time to grow a political pair and man up Toews.
